Ghosts – Do You Believe?

I’m busy working on my latest WIP. It’s mostly finished. I’m doing the final edit and getting it ready to send off for editing. The book is a contemporary romantic suspense but I have several characters that have paranormals talents.

One of them can move items by concentrating on them. It’s called telekinesis. The dictionary defines it asis an alleged psychic ability allowing a person to influence a physical system without physical interaction.’

Another one is a sensitive. She feels or senses things from touching a person, a photo or a letter. The ability is called psychometry. The dictionary defines it as token-object reading, or psychoscopy, is a form of extrasensory perception characterized by the claimed ability to make relevant associations from an object of unknown history by making physical contact with that object.’

A third person can talk to ghosts. This is called being a Sensitive, Psychics Medium, or Psychic Medium.

And the last person is a witch, spells and all.

The premise in the book is that they work together to help other women in challenging situations.

I’m curious, do you believe in the supernatural? What about in a contemporary novel? Do you have any unusual talents? Have you had any experiences with ghosts?  I’d love to hear from you.

  2. I don't know for sure. In my romantic comedy mysteries, the hero can read the heroine's mind a little bit, especially when she is in a pickle. Sometimes, I think that comes about when people know each other very very well. Good question.

    1. At least you're open to the idea. and I agree that if you're very close to someone you can often tell what they're thinking.

  3. I believe in ghosts. I think there is a thin veil between our world and the next and sometimes there is a tear.

  4. I go on paranormal investigations with a group near where in live, and have had many experiences. I've captured orbs, EVPs, and arcs. My husband saw a ghost in Canterbury Cathedral, but I've never seen an entity. I also write historical and contemporary romance, and the paranormal is in many of my books. I would like to know when yours will be released! Diana

  5. Great post. I believe we live in a supernatural world and the unexplained can happen. I did write a ghost in a couple of my books and will do so again.

  6. I didn't believe in ghost or entities until my cousin rented an old home (1920) and all kinds of stuff went on there. Once her daughter and grandson, 3 yrs old, were lying on the bed and her daughter kept noticing her little boy looking past her at the wall. She looked and didn't see anything. So then he just started staring and she asked him what he was looking at and he said, "I'm looking at the man, Mommy." She said she jumped off the bed and grabbed her son and left. She never would go back. That is just one episode of many. This is really strange: One night my cousin said she heard all this noise, like thumping against the wall in the bathroom. The next morning she found a new roll of toliet tissue in the floor, totally intact, not damaged at all, except for the inner cardboard tube was gone. It was on the other side of the room beside the tub!

    1. Thanks for dropping by, Patricia. Loved the examples you shared from your family. I believe there are definitely things that happen which could be super natural and can't be explained,
