I have to admit I haven’t been reading this last week. Holidays, cooking, eating, visiting and socializing got in the way. I am looking for good books to read during the next few weeks. I prefer mystery and romantic suspense. Sometimes women’s fiction. I have a few favorite authors I usually chose, but for the new year I thought I’d check out a few new authors.
Helena Fairfax recommended one her blog that sounded good – Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarity. This is also a Goodreads recommendation, so that’s going on my list.
Goodreads recommends It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover, End of Watch by Stephen King, and The Last Mile by David Baldacci.
The best sellers from Amazon included The Princess Diaries by Carrie Fisher, and Sisters One, Two, Three by Nancy Star.
Also, The Power of Love and Murder by Benda Whitehall, Stone of Heaven by L. A Sartor, Rachel by Caroline Clemmons, and The Beast Within by Jacquie Biggar.
And I’ll be looking for other recommendations from authors I haven’t read. I’d love to hear who you’re reading.
I picked up as a Christmas present two books in series that I've loved. One is the last Nora Roberts- Guardian's book and I'm almost through with it. Loved it. Fantasy, Goddesses and magic!
ReplyDeleteThe other is Dragon Spawn which is a Lucy Wu, police detective with danger and shifters... Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Thanks Melissa. I'll add those two to my list. I love Nora, but Lu Wu is new.
DeleteI love anything written by John Sandford. Also Marcia Clark writes some nifty books about the law, murder and mayhem with both authors. As for this author, I write romance/Suspense combined with humor all for grown-ups. No erotica just love.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Charmaine. I know John Sandford. I haven't read any Marcia Clark. I'll add her to my list. What's your latest book?
DeleteComing soon, that's not the title. Publisher said she'd set it up in a week or two. I'd be honored to be on your blog. She told me that Starting Over is now on Audible. It's an earlier book-very exciting-Survive and Thrive like all my stories. In fact that's me-how I live is to survive life's travail and survive head up!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, I have read all three of the books in the Guardian series, I loved them. But I love Nora.
ReplyDeleteBeverly, my book club has read several of Liane Moriarty's books. What Alice Forgot and The Hypnotist's Love Story are two of my favorites. I liked Truly, Madly, Guilty but to be honest not my favorite.
Right now we're reading Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly and we've also read The Girl in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware. Both were excellent. I love my book club, the best thing I ever did as an Author was to join a group of ALL readers. I learn so much just listening to their comments about the books. Plus I read books I would never have read otherwise. Some good and some bad, but I learn something each time we meet.
Great post, I could talk about books all day.
Mary
I didn't love It Ends with Us. It was recommended to me by a writer. But I thought the adults were very irresponsible. The prose was, however, stylish and well-written.
ReplyDeleteI love love anything by Liane Moriarity. She has never disappointed me. I read What Alice Forgot over the holidays.
