I think that could be a problem too, finding the time to read the books in time - especially if they picked one that I had to drag my way through.darkwriterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10896375750274931895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609030155206406866.post-76442570971067482802015-04-16T13:51:22.316-07:002015-04-16T13:51:22.316-07:00Thanks, Charmaine. It doesn't sound like it's a big advantage for the author - but it does get your name out and people may buy books later. Who is your audience when you speak at the libraries? darkwriterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10896375750274931895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609030155206406866.post-15068546027691457132015-04-16T13:46:38.825-07:002015-04-16T13:46:38.825-07:00Thanks for chiming in, Melissa. And one of the things I did find, was people liked the social aspect - maybe not so much the books. :) darkwriterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10896375750274931895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609030155206406866.post-31050734358754822092015-04-16T10:06:04.775-07:002015-04-16T10:06:04.775-07:00Hi Beverley, I think book clubs are swell. I love being a guest writer with the opportunity to read a passage or two and listen to feedback. And book signing is definitely a joy. It doesn't happen nearly enough. I have spoken to another book club and about 1/3 read the book. The rest just attended. I have spoken at several libraries as well. I would love to speak to more. My Mother-in-law has a book club and enjoys it. They like the social aspect of it I think more than the reading. Melissa Keirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10247037321769755660noreply@blogger.com
