I never cared for Jonathan Livingston Seagull though I know it was 'the book to read'. Neil Diamond even wrote a song with the story in mind.Connie Vineshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17835205487088200480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609030155206406866.post-9933421416523338862020-10-17T16:12:21.055-07:002020-10-17T16:12:21.055-07:00I have never read 100 Years of Solitude but did re...I have never read 100 Years of Solitude but did read Love in the Time of Cholera. I have never come across Karen Rose or Loreth Anne White but will look out for them now. Just like we spent a week or so in English class trying to figure out all of the references in "Miss American Pie."

I love Margaret Atwood's stories, but she needs a better editor. She has a tendency to be way too wordy. My favorite is Oryx and Crake--the second book in this series is awful, but the third book was a page-turner from the first word! I thought The Handmaid's Tale was just so-so. I've never seen the show, but I guess it's part of the cultural zeitgeist now. That's the holy grail of any author--to have your books so widely read, that everyone knows who you are.
