I often think of September 1st as the start to a new year. However, I will stay up late tonight and bring in 2014. Happy New Year!darkwriterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10896375750274931895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609030155206406866.post-61294723601336907402013-12-31T11:39:57.013-07:002013-12-31T11:39:57.013-07:00Thanks Andrea. I'm not really a history buff, but I do find it interesting to check out information about special days and holidays, and how they differ in many countries.darkwriterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10896375750274931895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609030155206406866.post-64721842847753293942013-12-31T11:38:00.625-07:002013-12-31T11:38:00.625-07:00Celebrate tonight Sandy and wishes for a wonderful...Celebrate tonight Sandy and wishes for a wonderful 2014.darkwriterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10896375750274931895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609030155206406866.post-23745517535625739232013-12-31T11:35:47.795-07:002013-12-31T11:35:47.795-07:00This was posted on a loop in response to my Blog. ...This was posted on a loop in response to my Blog. It came from Vietnam. Thanks Mike. <br />The Chinese New Year, and the Vietnamese New Year, will start this year on 31st January, but it is NOT a lunar new year, but a Lunisolar New Year. The difference is the odd number of days which all calendars have, and the occasional extra month!darkwriterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10896375750274931895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609030155206406866.post-85089197800066058012013-12-31T08:42:34.732-07:002013-12-31T08:42:34.732-07:00Great post. Really it seems like an arbitrary thing and from your post, I can see why. But I don't know that I want 2014 to begin on April 1st... Might be nice though to see that the spring is the season of rebirth. With the calendar we use, winter has already begun and we aren't even close to spring's rebirth. Maybe I will just go with the Pagan calendar and celebrate each season's blessings. :) Happy New Years!!Melissa Keirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10247037321769755660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609030155206406866.post-27252357330289977352013-12-31T06:44:32.756-07:002013-12-31T06:44:32.756-07:00An interesting post, Beverley.
